Blog Spam

You probably don’t realize it and you’re probably not aware of it, but blog spam is rampant. I’m talking about random comments about poker or lotteries or pharmaceuticals, etc. skrud.net receives a huge volume of blog spam. (Actually, I don’t know if it’s ‘huge’ compared to other, more popular blogs, but it certainly seems like a lot to me). This blog gets at least 1 new spam comment every minute. Probably closer to 1.5 spam comments / minute on average. Luckily, there’s Spam Karma which means that almost none of it ever actually gets through (maybe 1 or 2 per week), and I usually catch these stray posts (since Spam Karma sends me weekly summaries by e-mail).
Still, I wonder about the impact all this has on my bandwidth. It can’t be healthy. Mind you, I’m doing pretty well on bandwidth. (Site5’s plan lets me go up to 50GB/month before I start having to pay per GB, and I barley get past 1GB).
I hope all spammers die by overdosing on Viagra.

didn’t hear about this then?

Oh happy day!
I used to have those problems 2.. Then I just disabled all comments on my blog…
Then I stopped blogging…
But I don’t reccomend that :)
Oh well. At least if it gets bad enough, you know you can give in and become a millionaire with a wang that won’t quit and an endless supply of cheap pharmaceuticals.
recycling my ideas skruddler…. just kidding yea, fizznatch seems to get no spam at all lately…. which makes me wonder if the spammers know that fizznatch gets no traffic.
Didn’t I install Spam Karma on Fizznatch, too?
I did. Login and go to Options -> Spam Karma 2
